Professional conduct standards, obligations, rights, and tenure terms governing all advocates associated with Kartavyam’s Legal Aid Clinics.

Case Allotment & Court Conduct

Rules governing how cases are assigned, briefed, and represented before courts and tribunals.

Case allotment is determined exclusively by the Management Committee, considering institutional priorities, conflict of interest, expertise, and feasibility.

No Advocate shall proceed before any Tribunal or Court on behalf of Kartavyam without prior written approval of the Management Committee.

Case briefings & documentation must be submitted to Advisory and Management Committees before initiating or advancing proceedings.

Continuous reporting of all developments before and after each appearance is mandatory through written, electronic, or telephonic communication.

Financial & Fund Obligations

Strict financial discipline rules ensuring transparency and institutional integrity.

No fees or financial consideration shall be accepted directly from any client or beneficiary without express authorisation of the Advisory and Management Committees.

All funds, donations, and contributions intended for Kartavyam must be transferred entirely and directly to Kartavyam without diversion or delay.

A comprehensive rule book prescribing conduct standards, confidentiality norms, reporting requirements, and timelines shall be circulated to all members.

Member Rights & Core Committee Authority

Member Rights & Responsibilities

Members shall enjoy rights and privileges as conferred by the Trust Core Committee from time to time.

Members shall cooperate fully in implementing programmes and policies formulated by the Management Committee.

Members may undertake legal and administrative measures beneficial for the organisation, subject to institutional oversight.

Core Committee Authority

Exclusive authority over new admissions, termination of membership, suspension, and expulsion of Advocates.

Power to remove an Advocate from the panel and initiate further action in case of misconduct or policy breach.

All decisions made in accordance with organisational governance standards to safeguard institutional interests.

Violation of organisational rules
Kartavyam reserves the right to terminate appointment with immediate effect for any breach of institutional guidelines or rules.

Breach of professional duties
Failure to fulfil professional obligations as an Advocate associated with Kartavyam's Legal Aid Clinics.

Conduct tarnishing reputation
Any action bringing disrepute to Kartavyam shall be grounds for immediate removal and further institutional action.
